I’m an amateur runner, professional web developer, music enthusiast, and occasional philanthropist. So it all just made sense–build a website about running to raise funds for a music-based charity.
The developer in me wanted badly to make an amazing website with awe-inspiring design and innovative functionality. But then I thought out the reasons behind starting this site, and it’s really all about the content. I want to focus on sharing meaningful tips and reflections about my experience training for my first full marathon. I want to spread the word about Music in Hospitals and provide an easy way for people to make a contribution to a great cause. I want to inspire people who wish to take on similar goals in running, travel, and mindfulness–all of which I’m still working on. Knowing that, I think I could live with slapping on this plain ol’ WordPress theme if it means defeating my pride to focus on bigger issues. I might redesign it one day, but I’ll probably be busy training.
Nerdy disclaimer aside, I’m a San Francisco born-and-raised twenty-something now living in London. As much as I love my city by the bay, I found myself feeling uninspired by the same routine, yearning for a new outlet for growth. Needless to say, I’ve fallen in love with London and the new opportunities it presents me with every day.
